As campaigners at the Feeding the 5k lunch at Trafalgar Square call for people to eat more offal in an effort to reduce food waste, Morrisons is highlighting the fact that it has the widest range available at any major supermarket.

The unparalleled array of cuts available at stores across the country includes:

• Ox, pig and lamb kidneys
• Ox, pig and lamb heart
• Ox, pig and lamb liver
• Ox tail
• Pig cheek
• Trotters
• Tongue (ox and lunch, available in deli)

Morrisons is able to offer more offal than any other major supermarket because of the unique way in which the business is run.

The country’s fourth largest food retailer buys the whole animal, prepares the meat at its own abattoirs and processes it at its own manufacturing facilities, before it is sold in store.

Andrew Smith, Head of Meat Trading, said: “The unique way in which our business is run allows us to offer more diverse meat and cuts than any of our competitors. This helps us keep waste down to a minimum, as well as offering more unusual meats for our customers.”
