Less than a quarter of the price of Pizza Hut’s Veggie ‘Pepperphoni’
Morrisons is today revealing the nation’s first supermarket Vegan ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza at its pizza counters – and it tastes just like the real deal.
Pepperoni has long been voted the UK’s favourite pizza topping, and so Morrisons has created the much-anticipated vegan alternative for those looking to cut down on their red meat intake.
Morrisons ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza is made from a vegan dough and is topped with plant-based cheese and a vegan pepperoni alternative, which is made from a blend of pea protein and spices, to mimic the meaty taste and texture of the cheesy, spicy pizza favourite.
The 10” vegan pizza is priced at just £2.50; less than a quarter of the price of Pizza Hut’s vegetarian equivalent, which sets pizza lovers back £11.891.
Leanne Cory, Morrisons’ Pizza Counter Buyer, said: “We have listened to the many customers who want more vegan options at our pizza counters and have worked hard to bring them their favourite toppings without compromising on flavour. The new Vegan ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza offers a convincing meat-free alternative and tastes just like the original – you really won’t believe it until you’ve tried it.”
The Vegan ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza is now available for a pocket-friendly £2.50 at Morrisons pizza counters, in the majority of Morrisons stores.
