Tapping into the nation's love for chicken shop-style dining, Morrisons is bringing the viral food trend straight to its supermarket cafés this winter.
Launching on Monday 2 November, the new café menu puts customisation front and centre, giving customers a street-food-inspired feast alongside hearty British classics and indulgent desserts.
At the centre of the new launch is the £8 Chicken Combo Deal, designed for chicken lovers wanting to recreate their favourite chicken shop order. Diners can build their ultimate meal by choosing from crispy wings, tenders, or bites, accompanied by two sides and a signature sauce of their choice. The line-up also offers a delicious vegan swap with the crispy ChiQin Buttermilk Burger.
Bringing bold flavours to the menu, choices include popular sauces like hot honey for a sweet and spicy kick, alongside tangy buffalo. Sweet chilli, garlic and herb, and classic barbecue are also included within the selection, making it easy to tailor every dish to individual tastebuds.
Beyond the chicken shop offerings, Morrisons is continuing to champion traditional British comfort food with two satisfying winter mains. The Steak and Kidney Suet Pudding, priced at £8, pairs a classic suet pastry pudding with chips, garden peas and gravy for a satisfying take on a much-loved dish. For a roast dinner favourite, the Half Roast Chicken Meal costs £9 and comes with chips and Morrisons The Best Coleslaw. Those looking for a lighter option can swap the chips for salad.
For customers seeking a hot lunchtime pick-me-up, Morrisons is also launching two new toasted favourites, both priced at £4.50. Diners can enjoy the sweet and savoury notes of the Sausage & Caramelised Onion Toastie, or opt for a lunchtime staple with the Tuna & Cheese Panini.
To finish, two much-loved desserts bring a little indulgence to the menu. The Sticky Toffee Pudding and Chocolate Sponge Pudding, priced at £5 each, are both served warm with a choice of cream or custard. Those after an afternoon treat can tuck into four delicious new bakes for just £3 each with a creamy Honeycomb Golden Nugget Cheesecake, decadent Black Cherry Cream Cake, festive Mini Loaf Yule Log, and nutty Sticky Toffee with Pecans. Customers can also pair any of these sweet additions with a regular hot drink as part of the £4 Cake & Hot Drink deal.
William Reed, Senior Cafe Buying Manager at Morrisons said: “We're always looking for ways to give customers more choice and good, honest value in our cafés. By tapping into the huge popularity of high street chicken shops, our new Chicken Combo lets customers make their meal their own, from choosing their favourite cut of chicken to picking from our range sauces and sides. Combined with our returning British classics and comforting puddings, it's an exciting, great-value menu for anyone stopping by for lunch, dinner, or a refuel while doing the weekly shop.”
The new winter menu will be available in Morrisons Cafés from Monday 2 November, running through to Spring 2027.
