Morrisons wins two awards at top industry awards

Morrisons has picked up two award wins at a major Food Awards ceremony in London. The Quality Food Awards, which is now in its 30th year and is one of the most prestigious awards for food and drink products on sale in UK grocery retail outlets.

Morrisons Value Cheese & Bacon Quiche won the Value Pies, Pasties and Pizza category and Morrisons Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni won the Vegetarian category. In addition, Morrisons The Best Tomato and Chilli Paste was highly commended in the Sauces and Ingredients category

Chris Walker, Senior Fresh Food Trading Director for Morrisons, said: ‘Morrisons is delighted to have won these awards and that the good quality and value of our products has been recognised.’

Commenting on each of the own brand Morrisons winning products, the judges said that they offered good value for money.

Morrisons Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni

“This is a classic dish and made extremely well, the flavours all work well together and the texture and aroma were deemed to be spot on.” Said the judges.

Morrisons Value Cheese and Bacon Quiche

“The egg is lovely, fluffy and it’s truly admirable to be using free range eggs.  At 83p this product represents extremely good value for money; this really is innovation as a result of the credit crunch.” Said the judges.
