We understand that good food starts with good farming and are committed to supporting the high standards which lie at the heart of the British industry. All Morrisons-branded fresh meat is British, along with our milk, eggs and the meat sold from our in-store butchers counters, a position which is testament to this commitment.
We buy animals and whole crops direct from farmers, which is how they want to do business. Owning our own abattoirs, manufacturing and packing facilities enables us to utilise the whole carcase and all of the crop, meaning farmers get a fair price and are left with nothing to offload.
We know our customers care about the quality of food they give their families, where it comes from and how it is produced. They are also price-conscious. So in partnership with farmers we are striving to deliver on our customers’ desire for good quality and affordable British food.
Our Farming Programme works with producers to promote profitable, responsible farming through collaboration and investment in research. This isn’t about telling farmers how to farm. It’s about working together to deliver great food to customers at the right price.
Some farmers have been supplying us for more than 30 years, which is a testament to the strength and fairness of our supply chain relationships.
