This year, Let’s Grow will be supporting Change4Life by encouraging adults and children to get gardening and get in shape.
The gym is not the only place to get active, why not swap the living room for the garden? Gardening is a great way of getting outdoors and being active – and you can also have fun growing your own vegetables, too!

Gardening is a great way towards getting your ‘active minutes’ – the ones that really get your heart pumping. It’s recommended that children are active for at least 60 minutes every day, and adults for at least 150 minutes per week. And the best part? The fruit and vegetables you grow can count towards your 5 A DAY as well, so gardening can help you eat healthier too.
In order to maintain a healthy weight, we need to both eat better and move more. Many families are making changes that will help them live healthier and longer lives.
